And that was with a Golf Pro Father./p pThere are a lot of books and other information products available for established golfers, but not a lot for adults who are brand new to the game. Crowsnest Pass Golf Course in Alberta
pimg src=http://www.linknet-promotions.com/images/crowsnestpass-2-125.jpg //p pCrowsnest Pass is one of the high mountain passes through the Rocky Mountains in western Canada. It is located very near the Alberta/British Columbia border in the southern part of the two provinces./p pThe pass itself is essentially a valley running east-west with the Crowsnest River flowing east into Alberta and Summit lake draining out through the Elk River to the west and eventually into the Columbia River./p pThis area is historically significant because the first transcontinental rail line, the Canadian Pacific, was pushed through the pass in the 1890s as a pre-condition of B.C. entering into the Canadian Confederation./p pThe a href=http://www.crowsnestpassgolf.comCrowsnest Golf Course/a is actually located in Blairmore, Alberta, just east of the town of Crowsnest Pass on the Alberta side of the border./p pThe course is open to the public and is situated in a majestic mountain setting about two hours south of Calgary. It doesn't have the same sizzle as you'll find in the big name courses nearer Calgary, but it doesn't have the same high prices either, with green fees in the $45-$50 range./p pThe golf course website features a very nice a href=http://www.crowsnestpassgolf.com/crowsnest/vss.htmshot-by-shot look at the course/a./p pA.G.A. pThis a href=http://www.thebestbetonsports.comsports handicapping/a system has had an amazing record over the last couple of years. Grey Silo, Waterloo, Ontario, October 8, 2006
Oct 8/06 - a href=http://www.theweg.comThe WEG/a - This Thanksgiving weekend in Ontario turned out to be one of the nicest long weekends of the entire year, so it was a perfect opportunity to drive down the road to Grey Silo in Waterloo and take some photos. By the time Judy and I got to the course it was just about 5 pm -- not long enough to play a round -- so we decided to just walk as much of the course as we had time for. Grey Silo is a fairly new course -- opened just four or five years ago -- and is owned by the City of Waterloo. So it is spartan when compared to your typical new private or semi-private course these days. But it has a beautiful setting, is nicely designed, and is well-maintained by the muni staff. pHere are some photos taken during our walk.../p pimg src=http://www.biz-blogs-2.com/images/gsilo-21-400t.jpg alt=Grey Silo River Walkway title=Grey Silo Grand River trail //p pThe Grand River beside hole #2./p pimg src=http://www.biz-blogs-2.com/images/gsilo-18-400t.jpg alt=Grey Silo title=Grey Silo c. Planning A Golf Trip to Southern Alberta
pFeb 11, 2007 - a href=http://www.internetgolfreview.comLinknet Golf/a /p pimg src=http://www.sbo-linknet.com/images/kananaskis-1.jpg/p pWell, here we are in the deepest part of February '07, and I'm thinking about golf. We're trying to decide whether to head over to a href=http://www.biz-blogs-2.com/blogs/golf-travel.php?s=ScotlandScotland/a again for a golf holiday this summer, spend a week in a href=http://www.biz-blogs-2.com/blogs/admin.php?ctrl=editamp;action=editamp;post=856Cape Breton at Highlands Links/a, or make the trek to Alberta to do a little foothills golf./p pAlberta has the upper hand at the moment. Judy spent a few years in southern Alberta near the little town of Brocket so if it's Alberta we choose, we'll likely be heading to the southwest corner of the province. That would be south and west of Calgary./p pBut what about golf in that area of the province? Typically what I do is look for courses that cost less than $100/round, offer afternoon or twilight rates that are about half that, and are therefore usually off the beaten track. That way we stay well away from the crowds and can golf just about every day if we want -- often at some pretty remarkable places./p table width=100%trtd width=65 valign=top height=40a href=http://www.linknet-blogs.com/golf-blogs.phpimg border=0 src=http://www.sbo-linknet.com/images/hurrah-girl-2-50x40.jpg width=55 height=50/a/tdtd width=100% valign=topba href=http://www.linknet-blogs.com/golf-blogs.phpfont color=#CC3300Win with Linknet Golf/font/a/b - New Contests Every Week./td/tr/table pThat leaves out a href=http://www.fairmont.com/FA/en/CDA/Home/Activities/CDResortActivity/0,1095,code%25255Ftype%253DGOLF%2526category%25255Ftype%253Dactv%25255Ftype%2526property%25255Fseq%253D100100,00.htmlBanff Springs ($200)/a, but includes some courses in the a href=http://www.canmoregolf.net/Canmore/a, a href=http://www.kananaskisgolf.com/Kananaskis/a and locations south and west of Calgary such as a href=http://www.wintergreengolf.comBragg Creek/a and a href=http://www.heritagepointe.com/De Winton/a. That would be the first leg of our trip. /p pThe second would take us further south to Lethbridge, Fort Macleod and Waterton Lakes National Park. I'll be researching possible golf courses in that area very soon./pdiv class=item_footerpsmalla href=http://www.biz-blogs-2.com/blogs/courses.php/2007/02/11/planning_a_golf_trip_to_southern_albertaOriginal post/a blogged on a href=http://b2evolution.net/b2evolution/a./small/p/div

When I found out I knocked 30 shots off my average round of Golf! /p pbBlue Springs Golf and Country Club in Acton, Ontario, Canada/b - photos by Aaron Stanger/p pHere are some photos taken by my nephew, Aaron Stanger, during a round we played back in May at Blue Springs Golf and CC in Acton, Ontario. Blue Springs was my home course for quite a few years, so I know it rather well -- must have played about 500 rounds on this really great course. As you can tell from the photos, it was a foggy day. The entire course was incredibly green due to the large amount of rain we had -- typical of the rest of the year./p pimg src=http://www.biz-blogs-2.com/images/bs/1-rick.jpg alt=teeing off at Blue Springs Acton title=hole 1 at blue springs /br / Teeing off at No. 1/p pimg src=http://www.biz-blogs-2.com/images/bs/10.jpg alt=10 Blue Springs title=10 blue springs /br / Looking back at #10 green and fairway. Dakota Dunes, Near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
pSee more golf course features at a href=http://www.biz-blogs-2.com/blogs/golf-travel.phpGolf Travel/a./p pA few days into our Saskatchewan trip last summer (July 2005) we headed up the road towards Saskatoon to play the new golf course called Dakota Dunes. This course is located on the Whitecap Dakota First Nation lands in the impressive sand dunes beside the South Sasktchewan River./p pimg src=http://www.biz-blogs-2.com/images/dakota-dunes-1.jpg alt=Dakota Dunes title=Dakota Dunes / width=325 height=188/p pimg src=http://www.biz-blogs-2.com/images/dakota-dunes-4.jpg alt=Dakota Dunes title=Dakota Dunes //p pDakota Dunes was selected by Golf Digest as the best new Canadian course of 2005. I don't know about all the rest of them, but this course is pretty impressive./p pLike many new courses being built these days, Dakota Dunes is a links style course. This one is the real deal. It has all the regular characteristics of a modern links course: hard, fast fairways, long fescue rough, very few water hazards and no trees to get in the way of shot making. There are also very few hazards in front of the greens making it possible (and fun) to run the ball up with your woods or long irons./p pSee my more extensive review of a href=http://www.biz-blogs-2.com/blogs/golf-travel.php/2005/08/02/dakota_dunes_near_saskatoon_saskatchewanDakota Dunes here/a./pdiv class=item_footerpsmalla href=http://www.biz-blogs-2.com/blogs/courses.php/2006/10/07/dakota_dunes_near_saskatoon_saskatchewan_1Original post/a blogged on a href=http://b2evolution.net/b2evolution/a./small/p/div
