Golf Website Promotion at InternetGolfReview.com

Today I am officially returning IGR back to its "roots" (pretty melodramatic, eh?)

It is going to become a straight ahead vehicle for the promotion of golf websites and golf products sold on the internet.

Why? Because there are many golf-related websites, and many of them are aimed at selling products of one kind or another. So this site, in conjunction with several of our other sites (see the list below*) will be aimed at providing low cost, high value promotional services aimed specifically at golf website promotion.

What website promotion services?

The same ones we offer on our Small Business site at www.small-business-online.com:

  • Search Engine Optimization information and services
  • Low cost "Pay Per Click" ad brokering to drive targeted traffic to your site(s)
  • Low cost promotional programs to enhance your "Online Presence" (see below)
  • Low cost targeted online newsletter advertising

Do you want website traffic?

All of these services are aimed at driving traffic to your site(s) for as little cost as possible. Getting traffic is the biggest problem any webmaster faces. We have tried many different techniques, and will continue to experiment with new ones. But, in our humble opinion, getting traffic boils down to three things:

  1. You must have content that people want.
  2. You must have good Search Engine ranking so people can find you.
  3. You must employ effective, aggressive "proactive" traffic generating techniques in addition to just sitting back and waiting for SE-generated traffic.

In other words, once you have content (and you absolutely MUST keep adding new content), there are two ways to get traffic. In this (and our other sites), until we think of better words, we will refer to these as

  • PASSIVE methods -- primarily SE-generated traffic, and link exchanges
  • ACTIVE methods -- "go-out-and-get-it" traffic -- email campaigns, PPC campaigns (Pay Per Click), Joint Ventures, Article Submission, Paid Advertising.

We all know about the 'Passive" methods mentioned above (chasing after Search Engine ranking and link exchanges). We all like to use these because they are cheap. We will offer lots of advice about this, and even some very economical services. (Here's an interesting one.) But "passive" traffic-generating methods are not enough.

It is the ACTIVE methods that we will be focusing on, and will have much more to say about this in the very near future.
