Play These Courses During Your Las Vegas Golf Vacation

Close your eyes and imagine Las Vegas. You probably see the famous Strip or a blackjack table. True, Las Vegas is best known for its gambling and casino scene. But did you stop to imagine some great golf as well? Las Vegas has excellent golf courses to satisfy the beginner or advanced player alike.

I hope that the words “Las Vegas” will remind more people of golf, instead of just gambling. If you’re an avid golfer, Las Vegas is a great place to take your next vacation. Let’s take a quick tour of a few of Las Vegas’s more interesting golf courses.

The Falls Golf Club at Lake Las Vegas: Designed by Tom Weiskopf, this course is absolutely gorgeous. The layout combines lush scenery with waterfalls and various elevations. Holes 12-14 include a view of the valley floor and 100 feet of elevation changes. Totally amazing!

Paiute Resort’s Snow Mountain: Snow Mountain is a player friendly course designed by Pete Dye. But don’t be mistaken – there are some very difficult pot bunkers behind the rolling greens and wide fairways. Paiute Resort is the perfect getaway for golfers who love a little seclusion. You can’t miss the par-5 with a 525-foot water guarded green. Have a great time!

Reflection Bay by Lake Las Vegas: Genius Jack Nicklaus designed this course. He designed it with a unique Southwest Florida theme. But look out for the lake holes. If you make it past the water, you might still fall pray to the many sand traps. This fun course is definitely a course you should plan to see on your Las Vegas golf vacation.

The Royal Links Golf Club: Pretend you’re at the British Open at this unique course. The castle-shaped clubhouse adds to the illusion. But be on your toes for the many deep bunkers around the course, including the old Hell Bunker from Saint Andrews. Be careful of old Hell Bunker if you’re hoping to beat your last score!

The Canyons’ TPC: This course is like stepping back into the Nevada desert. Designed by Ray Floyd and Bobby Reed, the course fits right in to its natural surroundings. Ray and Bobby pulled in many beautiful elements of the local environment to make this course special. But looks can be deceiving – look out for the 30-foot deep Death Valley arroyo.

These are only 5 of the courses you can find in the Las Vegas area. You could visit any of the other beautiful courses to make it a once-of-a-lifetime trip. So next time you think of Las Vegas, imagine the perfect course!
